Rail Around Queensland - Down To The Bay (DVD)

Rail Around Queensland - Down To The Bay (DVD)

Very few places in Australia have seen their railway closed, ripped up and forgotten, only to be rebuilt decades later.

Press play and jump on board as you take a trip through the history of the Cleveland line, from Brisbane city to the terminus. See a variety of both narrow (1067mm) gauge and standard gauge rollingstock as we explore this line's radiant past. Witness the events which ended the "Cinderella" treatment of Brisbane's southside network, along with the now long gone 'Gabba depot. Experience the Gibson Island, Lytton and Fisherman Islands branches along with one of the only private industries in the state to have its own workers trains, at Cannon Hill.

In vivid detail, visit Gloucester Street, Doboy, Badgen and Barinia stations, now all but a memory, while also dropping into Fort Lytton and taking a trip along the Belmont tramway. Horse drawn, steam and electric trams, set the backdrop for the steam locomotives of the Gabba, working the various trains on the branch, including the last passenger train, the diesels which replaced them and the various classes of Railmotors including the ill fated McKeen Cars, all intermingled around a trip via state of the art electric suburban trains.

Saturated in never before seen historical footage and photographs, Down To The Bay has something for everyone to enjoy! Jump onboard as we head down to the bay...
